What to do in times of crisis when it comes to your social media marketing?
I’ll admit I don’t know the correct answer for everyone.
The death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has shaken the world, whether you’re a royalist or not. It’s a highly emotive time or grief, sadness and more upheaval for us here in the UK.
Here are some practical tips for you to review today and over the next 12 days of national mourning and take appropriate action
🖤 Check your content. If anything feels inappropriate, then pause it.
🖤 Scroll through your feed to see how your audience is reacting to the news. Gain a sense of understanding and empathy towards your client base.
🖤 Reconsider planned launches, webinars, courses, 3 day challenges etc. after reading the room.
🖤 Soften your copy if necessary, you need to keep your business going but do consider how certain posts will be received.
🖤 Don’t write posts purely for engagement as clickbait will not be welcomed at a time of national mourning.
🖤 Keep checking the news for further updates, and significant dates and take appropriate action with your content.
🖤 Don’t be afraid to market your business, times are tough already and people still need your services and products.
🖤 Finally, do what feels right for you, your clients, your staff, and your business.
What an impact The Queen had on the history of our country and the world.
May she rest in peace.
